Has lived in the street for seven years.
“If you do not count me, I do not exist. If you do not ask me, you do not know what’s wrong with me. Neither me nor the rest of the people who sleep on the street. Each of us has a different story and needs a different solution.
This phrase sums up some of what I think about the census of people sleeping on the street. Its purpose is to make visible the problem of the homeless and make people understand it. The census tells us how many people sleep in the street and what these people are like, both physically and mentally, and also the circumstances of each one.
After five years living on the street I feel like a ghost, excluded from society. I liked that they asked me about my situation and my health. Living on the street is very hard, every day that passes is like a month. You learn many things on the street, especially about bad things.
