Report ‘Living on the streets in Barcelona’ – issue no. 5 – (2023 data)

 81% of people living on the streets in the city of Barcelona state that they did not receive any type of social care in the first month they spent on the street. Thus, the people who have been living on the streets for the least amount of time are the most neglected by social, public or institutional services, either because of lack of knowledge of how resources for homeless people work or because of the difficulty of adapting to the new reality. The percentage of people served by social services increases as the time spent on the street increases.
